Cast stretch film offers quieter unwind, a more consistent gauge, and easier stretch, making it the everyday choice for most pallet wrapping. Blown stretch film provides higher puncture and tear resistance, making it the preferred option for loads with sharp corners, heavy items, or irregular shapes that demand extra holding force.

Hand stretch film is available in standard gauges of 47, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, and 115 ga. Lighter gauges like 47–60 ga suit lighter loads or pre-stretch applications, while heavier gauges like 80–115 ga are recommended for heavier, irregular, or sharp-edged pallet loads requiring maximum puncture resistance.

Standard widths include 12 in, 15 in, 18 in, and 20 in. The 12-inch width is ideal for bundling and small loads. The 18-inch and 20-inch widths are the most common for full-pallet hand wrapping in warehouses and distribution centers.
