This reduces the physical effort needed during application, lowers film consumption by 30–50%, and delivers more wraps per roll — making it ideal for both hand and machine applications in high-volume operations.

Typically, one standard pallet requires approximately 100–150 ft of hand stretch film, depending on load height, weight, and wrap pattern. A standard 1,000 ft hand roll covers roughly 6–10 pallets. Machine rolls at 5,000–12,000 ft can wrap 50–120+ pallets, depending on gauge, film type, and machine stretch ratio settings.

Hand stretch film is available in 47, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, and 115 gauge. Machine grade film comes in 47, 60, 63, 70, 80, and 90 gauge. Equivalent gauge options using metallocene and nano-layer resins deliver 80 ga performance at 47 ga thickness for maximum material cost reduction.

Hand stretch film is stocked in 12 in, 15 in, 18 in, and 20 in widths. Machine grade film is available in 20 in and 30 in widths. The 18 in and 20 in widths are most commonly used for standard pallet wrapping, while 12 in is popular for bundling and smaller loads.

Cast stretch film offers a quieter unwind, more consistent gauge, and is easier to stretch by hand — ideal for most standard warehouse applications. Blown stretch film provides higher puncture and tear resistance, making it the preferred choice for sharp-cornered, irregular, or heavy loads that require extra protection during transit.
