Pallet stretch film is an elastic LLDPE plastic film used to unitize and secure loads on pallets during shipping and storage. It stretches over the load and clings to itself without adhesive, providing stability and protection from dust, moisture, and tampering. Cast stretch film is manufactured through a cast extrusion process, resulting in a quieter unwind, more consistent gauge, and easier hand-stretch. Blown stretch film is made through a blown extrusion process, yielding higher puncture and tear resistance, making it ideal for sharp-cornered or heavy loads that require premium protection during transit.

For standard pallet wrapping, 80 gauge hand stretch film is the most common choice, offering a balance of strength and economy. Heavier or irregular loads may benefit from 90 to 115 gauge film.
